The Certified Equity Professional Institute (CEPI) at Santa Clara University's Leavey Executive Center is the premier certification body for equity compensation professionals. The structured, multi-level certification program offered is designed to equip professionals with comprehensive expertise in equity compensation and to advance their careers, with a recognized and respected certification.

Certification Pathways
  • Equity Compensation Associate (ECA): Achieved by passing the Level I exam, this designation demonstrates foundational knowledge in equity compensation, making it ideal for individuals with less than two years of experience.

  • Certified Equity Professional (CEP): This advanced designation is earned by successfully completing Levels I through III, covering in-depth topics such as equity plan design, accounting, taxation, and corporate and securities law.

Continuing Education

To maintain the ECA and CEP designations, professionals are required to complete 30 hours of industry-related continuing education every two years. This ensures that designees stay current with evolving practices and regulations in the field.
