Norway

In the distant past, Norway presented that feature of taxation most dreaded by stock option planners: aggressive taxation on grant. Today, Norway is generally in line with the conventional system of taxation on exercise, and securities law compliance follows the EU Prospectus Directive. New rules have been proposed, however—commencing 2018—that would postpone taxation of gain on the exercise of options until the shares are sold.
