U.S. Tax Reform and the Impact on Global Equity and Rewards

Event Details

This session will cover the latest developments in global equity and rewards, including key regulatory updates, the impacts of U.S. tax reform, and approaches the market is taking with respect to the design, delivery, and risk mananagement of their global compensation and benefit programs.

Luncheon registration fee is $20 for NASPP (including Member companies) and $25 for non-Members.  Pay by check OR cash at the door.  All are welcome, but we do require to be notified of any cancellations.  Any cancellations are due by 3/20/18.

Attendees can park in the building (entrance is on Clybourn St.) and bring their ticket to the receptionist on the 40th floor to validate the parking.  To get to the 40th Floor, they should take the elevators to the Galleria level and then take the elevators behind the information donut to the 40th floor reception area.  The 40th floor is where the conference room will be and the receptionist will direct attendees where to go from there.

Meridith Fronza
Senior Manager, Deloitte Tax LLP

Meridith is a Senior Manager with 14 years of experience specializing in providing services to multinational companies regarding the design, delivery, and risk management of global compensation and benefit programs.

Meridith has led many large global compensation and benefit plan projects, including the implementation of global deferred compensation, stock option, restricted stock, and ESPP plans as well as aided companies with regulatory and individual and corporate tax advice related to global share plans.  Meridith also specializes in serving international clients in the areas of management of international mobility policies, multi-country tax planning, compensation structuring, cross-border equity issues, and international assignment program management and coordination.

Meridith holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana.  Meridith is an Enrolled Agent before the Internal Revenue Service and has passed the Series 7 and Series 63 examinations.

Christine Furie
Senior Manager, Deloitte Tax LLP
Global Employer Services

Christine is a Senior Manager in the Global Employer Services practice of the Chicago office of Deloitte Tax LLP, with over 25 years of experience in all aspects of employee benefits work.  She is an attorney by training, and for the past twenty years, she has worked in public accounting, assisting clients with matters related to executive compensation and all manner of employee benefit plans.  She has deep experience with respect to the impact of Internal Revenue Code Sections 457A and 409A and FATCA on benefit plans and global policies, and related matters. She also has recent experience assisting employers with ACA compliance and Tax Reform.


Christine has extensive experience managing numerous projects associated with due diligence through post-merger integration, including management of client and firm teams in multiple business units in over 30 countries and the comprehensive review of global, and multiple country, benefit programs to identify compliance issues and potential cost savings.  Christine is a member of the Chicago Bar Association's Employee Benefits Committee and has spoken at conferences across the country regarding employee benefits issues.  She is the author of "Cost & Benefit Factors - Ch. 6S" in IICLE's publication, Employee Benefits Law.

Christine received her Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University and her law degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law and is certified to practice law in the State of Illiniois.
