As head of Fidelity Stock Plan Services' Industry Relationships and Thought Leadership, Emily drives connections with the stock plan industry and focuses on developing data-driven insights on equity compensation plan design, usage, and effectiveness based on quantitative and qualitative research to help plan sponsors make more informed decisions about their equity plans and processes. 

Emily has spearheaded work to develop deep understanding of Employee Stock Purchase Plans and the impact of design on participation, conducted analysis on the relationship between Performance Award payouts and corporate performance, and shared extensive data on employee selling behavior, participant perceptions, and participant communications and engagement. 

 

In her former role as executive director of the Certified Equity Professional Institute (CEPI) at Santa Clara University, Emily was involved in all aspects of certification, research, and program marketing. She also managed all the equity compensation programs at National Semiconductor, and held various roles at E*TRADE/ShareData. 

 

With over 20 years in the industry, Emily is recognized for deep knowledge of and enthusiasm for equity compensation. She is a frequent speaker and author on topics to help educate employers, advisors, and the media.  Emily is a board member for the Certified Equity Professional Institute, member of the NASPP Executive Advisory Committee, recipient of the NASPP Individual Achievement Award, a Fellow of Global Equity, and a representative on GEO's Partner Alliance Council. She is a Certified Equity Professional and holds Series 7 and 63 securities registrations

 

Barbara Baksa, CEP

Barbara Baksa serves as Executive Director for the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals (NASPP).  She is a frequent speaker on equity compensation related topics, has authored numerous white papers and articles on stock compensation and has contributed chapters to four books on equity compensation. Barbara is also the author of the book "Accounting for Equity Compensation," published by the National Center for Employee Ownership and a required text for the Certified Equity Professionals exam. Barbara also serves as editor of The NASPP Advisor and co-editor of The Corporate Executive.
 
Barbara began her career in equity compensation over 20 years ago. She is a Certified Equity Professional and a member of the Advisory Board of the CEP Institute at Santa Clara University.  Barbara has a BA in English from the University of Iowa.

Session Description

 

This super-charged session will examine five strategies to make your stock plan administration faster than a speeding deadline and able to leap communications hurdles in a single bound. We'll run down a litany of reasons to avoid December 31 for key events and provide supporting arguments to make the case to your boss. We'll explain how using prior day close can give you much needed time to process major events, like RSU settlements and ESPP purchases. We'll add "social media master" to your resume by showing you how to supercharge your communications with social media tricks.  We'll show you simple tips to make your examples better.  And, we'll give you x-ray vision to see inside participants' heads to help you make more informed decisions about your stock plans. You will leave feeling more powerful than a locomotive, with fresh ideas and ready to take on their next stock plan administration challenge.

Presentation: 12:00pm to 1:30pm (with lunch)
Questions/Networking: 1:30pm to 2:00pm

Meeting Fees:
$35.00 for PRE-PAID NASPP Members
$45.00 for PRE-PAID Non-NASPP Members

$60.00 for Non-Members, Walk-Ins, or Members Paying at the Door
 
As an added benefit to active NASPP members, the chapter will extend a limited number of complimentary registrations to unemployed NASPP members. Complimentary registrations are limited to two per person, per year. Please indicate on the comments section below to apply for this complimentary registration.

Pre-registration closes on the Friday before the meeting. Payments must be received by the Monday prior to the meeting. If payment is not received by the payment deadline, you will be asked to pay the $60 walk-in registration fee at the door. CANCELLATION POLICY   
During registration, your name is added to the list of meeting attendees and luncheon accommodations are made accordingly. To avoid a $60 cancellation fee, email registration@svcnaspp.com.
 
If you do not send your cancellation notice by the Registration Deadline:
  • any payment received will not be refunded
  • if no payment was received, a "No Show" penalty of $60 will be recorded by the Chapter and you will be invoiced.
*Must be NASPP member to win free registration to 27th Annual NASPP Conference and Exhibition. Issuer NASPP members will receive one raffle entry. The free registration is not transferable and does not include any travel costs incurred to attend.
