Event Details

With the recent flurry of updates from the SEC and no indication that Congress will take action to repeal or amend the CEO Pay Ratio, this eight year old Dodd-Frank mandate will finally become a reality in the first quarter of 2018. Proxies filed will now require disclosure of the ratio between the CEO’s pay and that of the company’s median worker, along with all assumptions and methodologies used to calculate this number. This session will provide a quick refresher on the requirements, review the latest updates and guidance from the SEC and discuss some of the possible tax penalties being considered at the local levels for what is perceived as an inequitable ratio in certain jurisdictions. We will also cover how to prepare for some of the unintended consequences of the disclosure by taking a closer look at the communication risks for key stakeholder audiences, including employees, investors and the media.
