Professional Biography for Daniel D. Coleman
Dan Coleman is a Partner in Chicago, where he serves as the Midwest and Canadian market leader for Aon Equity Solutions. Dan has more than twenty years of experience in plan design, valuation, tax, financial accounting, and disclosure issues related to all types of executive and broad based compensation programs for public and privately held companies.
Dan specializes in the valuation of employee options and performance shares under Accounting Standards Codification Topic 718 using Black-Scholes, lattice based models, and Monte Carlo simulations; valuation of contingent consideration, common and preferred stock, debt, stock warrants, and derivatives embedded in convertible debt and convertible preferred stock; and tax and financial accounting issues related to equity based compensation.
Dan has written and spoken extensively on the valuation of stock based compensation and derivatives. He was a member of the committee that updated the AICPA’s practice aid titled Valuation of Privately-Held-Company Equity Securities Issued as Compensation and is a co-author of a book published by the National Center for Employee Ownership titled Equity Alternatives: Restricted Stock, Performance Awards, Phantom Stock, SARs, and More. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Equity Professional. Dan frequently speaks on valuation and accounting issues at industry events and conferences hosted by the AICPA, the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals, the American Society of Appraisers, the University of Illinois, and Big 4 accounting firms. Dan graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Finance where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in economics.
Professional Biography for Chris Dohrmann
Chris has more than 30 years’ experience in stock plan management, with wide-ranging expertise in terms of system development, product development, operations, sales and CRM. Chris is currently Senior VP of Strategic Partnerships at Global Shares. Chris was formerly Executive Director at Equatex US, and prior to that spent 20 years in positions at Morgan Stanley, Smith Barney, and Citigroup. He is experienced in managing high profile, high revenue relationships, with a specialty in handling large, multinational corporate needs. Chris is a former member of Global Equity Organization Board of Directors as well as the CEPI Advisory Board.
