Subtle Design Trends with Big Impact
Equity is the most flexible compensation vehicle companies have at their disposal, and we believe it can also be the most effective, if thoughtfully deployed. However, companies consistently do not take advantage of the potential, resulting in the vast majority of equity programs looking eerily similar (e.g., all RSUs with 4-year annual vest or ESPPs with 15% discount and 6-month lookback). What are some small changes we can make to differentiate our offering, make it more appealing to recruits, or be more effective in achieving the stated objectives?
