The 17th Annual NASPP Conference

The 17th Annual NASPP Conference

The NASPP is pleased to announce that our 17th Annual Conference will be held from November 9-12 in San Francisco. Building on our almost two decades as the premier event for stock plan professionals, this year's Conference includes four days of critical and timely sessions.

Why the 2009 NASPP Annual Conference this Year?

We know that many of you—and your companies—are hurting in ways that we all never dreamed of. And that times are tough and going to a Conference is the last thing on your mind. But in the wake of this terrible economy, Congress and the regulators are intent on shaking things up, with huge changes afoot for executive compensation, stock plan administration and disclosure—that will impact every public company.

The NASPP is the unquestioned leader in providing critical guidance to all those involved with any role in design, oversight, administration, and disclosure of stock and executive compensation. With public scrutiny and huge exposure at stake like never before, this year's Conference will save every public company many times more than its cost. Even if your company or firm has cut back on travel, this is the one Conference you cannot afford to miss.

Highlights

Your stock plans are under siege from Congress, the SEC, investors, the media and the economy. With the volatile market destroying stock values while inflating stock plan expenses and major reforms on the horizon—all companies need to be considering new plan designs. You cannot afford to fall behind in this rapidly changing environment; it is critical that you—and you staff—have the best possible guidance. The NASPP Conference brings together top industry luminaries to provide the latest essential—and practical—implementation guidance that you need.

Highlights from this year's program include:

  • The full picture of how current economic conditions, the bailout and stimulus packages, and changing shareholder expectations are reshaping stock and executive compensation—and the real-world, practical solutions you need to respond to this rapidly changing landscape.

  • All the current hot topics in stock and executive compensation, including a round-up of regulatory developments over the past year.

  • Current trends and new opportunities in stock plan design, including restricted stock and unit plans and performance-based awards.

  • The latest news in tax developments, straight from the IRS and Treasury.

  • What to expect for the 2010 proxy season and best practices for executive compensation disclosures.

  • Critical accounting developments, planning for IFRS 2, traps to avoid under FAS 123(R), and advanced financial reporting considerations.

  • The latest technologies and innovations in administrative practices.

  • Key international developments impacting overseas and globally mobile plan participants.

The NASPP Conference will be essential to ensuring you can keep up during a year of unprecedented change. With the most respected experts in the field—the 2009 NASPP Conference will be a "must" for anyone who has any role in design, oversight, or administration of stock and executive compensation.

Keynote Presentations

The Conference will begin with several exciting keynote presentations from the industry's leading practitioners.

John Olson of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and Jesse Brill of the NASPP and CompensationStandards.com will offer their thoughts on reining in executive compensation in "Overcoming the Compensation Crisis: Sage Guidance."

Joe Nocera of the NY Times, Fred Cook of Frederic W. Cook & Co., and Ira Kay of Watson Wyatt will offer practical strategies for compensation planning in today's economy in "The Basics Have Changed: How to Proceed in this New Environment."

And we're thrilled to conclude the keynote presentations with an address from J. Mark Iwry, Senior Advisor to U.S. Treasury Secretary and Deputy Assistant Secretary. In this newly created role, Mr. Iwry is responsible for executive compensation, pensions, retirement savings and health care. His remarks, "Treasury Speaks about Executive Pay," are sure to be illuminating and of critical importance to companies as they begin to plan next year's compensation packages.

Exhibitors, Don't Delay

The NASPP Conference is the premier event for stock plan professionals and has long been a "must" for anyone responsible for executive or stock compensation. As a service or solution provider in this industry, these are your core customers. And now, more than ever before, Conference attendees are seeking new solutions and providers to help them adapt to today's rapidly shifting regulatory landscape.

San Francisco has perennially been a great location for us and our Conferences there have always drawn some of our largest attendances. Our many repeat exhibitors tell us that the exposure and leads developed at the Conference easily pay for the booths and sponsorships many times over. Most exhibit and sponsor year after year because the Conference is such a successful event for them. The pre- and post-Conference mailing lists alone are worth the cost of exhibiting.

For more information on exhibiting and sponsorship opportunities, please contact Gary Hill at Gary@naspp.com or (925) 685-9271. Space is limited and we expect to sell out again this year.
