Cash and cash-settled equity awards are becoming a popular option, especially in a global equity compensation program. Listen in and learn why companies use cash awards, how the tax and legal issues differ for cash, key accounting considerations, and how your broker or third-party administrator can help manage a cash award program.

Featured panelists:

  • Nora McCord, Aon Hewitt
  • Denise Glagau, Baker & McKenzie
  • Craig Long, Bank of America Merrill Lynch
  • Thomas Molloy, Bank of America

Among other topics, this program will include:

  • Discussion of different types of cash awards and metrics associated with earning the award payout;
  • Plan design considerations;
  • Upsides and downsides of using cash vs. equity;
  • Communication re: cash awards to recipients—cash may be easier to understand, but does not enable share ownership.
